Good day bearded fellows, we hope our latest blog finds you and your beard in good health. If there’s one thing we’ve learnt in life it’s that if you want to achieve something of true value, then you must be prepared to work hard for it and your beard is no exception! It takes a dedicated routine, experience, and above all else the right tools…
How to beat the Beard Itch
We often hear from customers and bearded men across the realm, ‘what can I do to stop my beard from itching and having dry and flakey skin?’.
There are a number of different solutions at your disposal that you can try on a daily basis. However our first and most important piece of advice is to use a top beard wash, designed for mens beards.
Why using a top Beard Wash is vitally important
You are probably thinking, surely there is no real difference between a hair and beard shampoo? In which case you should also be asking yourself, is there any difference between the hair on my face and the hair on top of my head? Well the answer there is clear, isn’t it?
The main difference between hair shampoo and a proper beard wash is the chemicals used in typical hair shampoo will also be stripping your beard of its natural oils. Certain mens shampoos have also been known to dry out the skin underneath your beard hair, so tread carefully if you are going to use your hair shampoo on your face.
Your beard hair can also be damaged, leaving your beard prone to hair breaking, falling out or weakened roots which can lead to bald patches – every #BeardsMen’s worst nightmare. The Bear Grooming beard wash is designed to work in conjunction with the natural oils produced by your skin and beard and not against them, ensuring your beard remains clean and healthy but also strong and soft.
Does my beard smell?
Not a question you want to be asking yourself really, but the answer is almost certainly yes, if it has any length to it and you don’t wash it quite regularly. On a daily basis your beard comes into contact with all manner of things from food and drink to dust and dirt.
A build up over time can have a negative impact on how your beard smells, by simply washing your beard 2-3 times a week with a top beard wash you can avoid beard pong.
How often should I use the Beard Wash?
Everyone is different on this front, it really depends on how dirty your beard is getting! If you work on a construction site and day in day out your face is taking a battering from all sorts of dusts and dirts then we would say everyday, but usually a safe bet is 2-3 times a week.
This should be enough to keep your beard feeling soft and smelling nice, without overdoing it and risking any form of irritation from over washing. The longer the beard and the more oily the skin, the more we recommend you use your beard wash. Over time, however, you will work out what works best for you and your beard.
