Is that it? Is the summer over? You never really know in the UK. We do know what follows summer however and that is Autumn. As a result it is time to step up your beard game. We personally have a winter beard, an autumn beard, a summer beard and more! Here are our top tips for sorting out your Autumn beard:
Stay on top of it
We don’t mean literally, I guess if you think about it you are already on top of your beard? Anyway, the hair on our face requires just as much TLC as the hair on our head, your beard and moustache hair is susceptible to split ends and dandruff as all other hair is. We recommend giving your beard a regular trim, perhaps some electric clippers with a nice range of settings so you can keep your beard trimmed and long if need be. The best way to do it of course is with a pair of beard grooming scissors, although this can take a while (depending on the size of one’s beard). It will keep your beard looking tidy and healthy however!
Don’t forget your upper cheeks
Beard hairs can be less uniform than the hairs on your head also, as a result you may get the odd rogue hair around your upper cheeks, living like a hermit away from the main collective. These rogues need to go, look for them around your sideburns and upper cheeks. Try not to cut into the top of the beard line, you want to keep this looking natural.
Keep it soft and smelling nice
One thing is clear with the seasons in the UK, Autumn is generally colder than Summer (although you can never be too sure). As the weather gets colder however, your beard is more likely to appear messy and a bit out of control. A beard is most important in the colder months of course, to keep your lower face warm! Oh and to make icicles, who doesn’t love a few icicles in their beard? Keeping your beard soft and smooth can therefore get tricky in these months. The most beneficial products you can get hold of for this purpose will certainly be a beard wash and a beard oil. The beard wash will prime your beard hair, keeping it soft and clean. Follow this up with a daily application of your beard oil and you should be sorted!
Be careful shaving your neck
A lot of men seem to think that clean shaving your neck is a good look, whilst keeping the beard long on the face. Either that or they are lazy and this is an easy way to stay on top of your messy neck beard. Shaving your neckline too high looks abnormal and as a result weird. It is always better to follow the natural boundary of your hair, you can keep your neck beard short however we advise against a clean shave! For Autumn a slightly heavier face beard with a short neck line is a good look.
Keep it combed
Did you know the majority of men do not comb their beard whatsoever? We think most of these guys must not know that doing so will help keep your facial hair looking fuller. One of the biggest advantages of combing your beard hair is that it will train your facial hair to grow in the combed direction, as long as you combing your beard downwards we are sure this will look good! Follow these tips, don some Autumn colours and take on the world.
